Joy Okochi

Joy is a Teacher at Mission Kids. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mills College in Ethnic Studies, with a minor in Child Development. She also holds two Master’s degrees from San Francisco State University, one in Equity & Social Justice in Education and the other in Special Education. She has worked professionally as an educator for over 15 years–10 of which were with SFUSD. Her roles have included paraprofessional, teacher, center director, inclusion specialist, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Coach. She loves working with kiddos who have special and diverse needs. Joy holds a Site Supervisor permit and will be working on obtaining her Program Director permit. Joy is a proud born and raised San Franciscan and is a parent to an alum and a current Mission Kids student. In her spare time, she likes listening to podcasts and reading children’s books.
